What Is Body Jet Lipo?
Body-Jet Lipo is water-assisted liposuction, meaning that a spray of water, instead of chemicals, helps to loosen and prepare excess fat cells for removal. The unwanted fat is simultaneously removed by way of an aspirator.
This procedure is considered to be safer and more effective than traditional Liposuction, as the water is injected, loosening the fat, at the same time that the fat is removed. The incision is smaller than traditional Liposuction, resulting in a quicker recovery time.
The Body-Jet Liposuction procedure has a track record of a quicker recovery time with fewer complications, and many patients report less swelling or bruising. This advancement in liposuction technology is one of several options provided by Dr. Blinski.
How Is Body-Jet Lipo Performed?
Some Liposuction techniques are designed to liquefy fat cells, but Body-Jet Lipo loosens the fat without damage the fat cell. Instead, a medical-grade water solution separates sheets of fat cells, rather than breaking the cells apart and causing potential tissue damage. Surrounding connective tissues and blood vessels remain intact, making the procedure less invasive and less uncomfortable, while still delivering the same contouring results expected from traditional Liposuction.
What Happens After Surgery?
The anesthesia fluid infused into the fatty tissue helps to keep the area numb for about 24 hours following surgery. This greatly minimizes postoperative pain. After Body-Jet Lipo, patients are usually alert and able to function without nausea. Due to the decreased amount of liquid solution used in Body-Jet Liposuction, less swelling and bruising, and faster healing can be expected. Most people return to work and normal activities within two days of their Body-Jet procedure. Compression garments are typically worn for 2 weeks after Body-Jet lipo, as compared to 6 weeks for traditional Liposuction.
